HTC Exodus 1 - First Looks

Image
Thursday, January 17, 2019 When I saw this posted on twitter, I knew I had to check out the HTC Exodus 1! Being a crypto enthusiast since 2014, I try to keep up with crypto technology, and here we have the very first blockchain phone! I paid 19.84 litecoin, and it took just over a month for it to arrive. Hopefully shipping picks up, but after ordering I heard there was a backlog. You can pay for the phone with crypto only. Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin. I've had it for about a week now, and I have to say I'm loving it! I've never really had a "flagship" phone, so now I know what it's like to actually feel the speed and see the quality of photos. My current provider is T-Mobile and I've had no issues so far. It comes loaded with the Zion Wallet, Blockfolio, Brave Browser, and CryptoKitties...lol I just started playing with the camera, and I can't wait to show you some samples. Urban Hiking in the Heart of Portland, Oregon - 2019

Image
January 12, 2019 Today marks the 12th day of our 365 page challenge/book, where we are trying to stay active for a healthy lifestyle change for 2019! We started our journey in Hillsboro, OR where we parked our car at a park and ride, and caught the MAX/Train to downtown Portland. We got off at the "Skidmore Fountain" stop. From there we walked toward the river and soon came upon the Waterfront Park Trail. We headed North towards the Steel Bridge on the mostly flat bike/run/walk path. We crossed the Steel Bridge and continued following the path, now going south towards the Tilikum Bridge which you can't miss... Bridge of the People is a cable-stayed bridge only used by Street cars, public transportation, bikers, runners, and even us walkers. We continued our loop and headed north again along the waterfront until we jetted west into the city downtown to grab a quick bite. We had to make a quick stop into Pioneer Place mall to check out the Bitcoin ATM and Maria ...

Sticking to My 2019 New Year's Resolution

Image
It’s day 9 of 2019! I made it a resolution (I don’t really do new year's resolutions as I am somewhat bad in keeping them, but this time, I am determined) this year that I must move around more often and be back to being fit. As what I had mentioned in my previous post, I let go of myself for awhile and eventually, it has taken a toll on my body. I gained a lot and I was fully aware of it, first hand.            Living in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon, around this time of the year, we have a dreadful weather – rain and cold! However, I steer clear myself from any excuses and alibis. The latter two words have a common denominator and that is failure. I refuse to settle myself with that. I am babysitting my granddaughter at 9:30 this morning and so I needed to pull myself up, get out, and take my brisk walk/run before then. I couldn’t go out when it’s still dark outside, so I waited ‘til the daylight turned up at ...

New Year, New Me!

Image
Today is the very first day of the year. I always get excited when the year is just about to start because I am always hopeful to get the things left undone the past year to accomplish this year. I always map out plans and reconnect with my visions for the current year and eager to have them realized. Whenever the quarter of the year comes around, but I still have things remain not done, I feel like I just want the year to end to start afresh for the coming year. I really hope this year will be different. I need to be more accomplished, and more successful in ticking off all of the things-to-do in my list.      One of the things that I want so badly this year is to lose weight. Well, I guess I share the same goal with a ton of people. It is easier said than done, no doubt. Been there, done that many, many times. I have a yo-yo weight loss, but at the age of 46, it makes me rethink that I need to be serious in taking care of my health - and for my ...

Puerto Vallarta Drink Diary. How to Make Your Own Michelada.

Image
The first time I set foot in Mexico four years ago, I got hooked. I fell in love with the place! Every year from then on, we don’t miss to visit it. I don’t really drink alcohol other than red wine at home, but when I’m on vacation, I make an exception. Expect for a drinking spree where the sun shines brighter! Now, this excites me more than a little! Although  I never go overboard, and just a little touch of alcohol in every drink, thus, I’ve never been drunk.  This year, we went to Puerto Vallarta, and we brought along with us our daughter. We enjoyed the place, the foods, the excursions, and drinks! There are only a handful of drinks I know and most often than not, I always get my no. 1 favorite drink which is piƱa colada. This time, I happened to try michelada. Never heard of it before, but it is a Mexican drink. It is said to have several versions, but the one I liked was the one mixed in with clam and tomato juice or “clamato” juice.    On our f...

Finding Happiness Is Just A Blessing Away!

Image
There was this young lady in my church back home in the Philippines that I was very fond of. She got married early in life and had little kids at such a young age. Her house was just close by our church and so whenever she missed the worship service, I would swing-by her house. She and her family were very poor. They lived in a small, dilapidated shack, and it was evident that she was struggling in life. Every time she saw me, I’d see her beamed with glee. She was always bubbly, so fun to talk with, and had this contagious laughter. There was no hint of miseries or whatsoever  when you see her.      One Sunday, I went to her house at noon right after our church service. She told me she wanted to invite me for lunch, but she was shy because they only had cooked rice…as usual. I knew how hard her life had been, but I couldn’t remember seeing her being sad, in fact, it was the total opposite – she always looked happy! I held her hand and told her, “But you are h...

Making Chopped Grilled Chicken Kelaguen Mannok - Hafa Adai - Guam

Image
Dad's a pro at making Chicken and Beef Kelaguen. We first took some chicken thighs and BBQ'd them, then chopped up into tiny pieces. He then added some lemon, soy sauce, salt and pepper and spices. Here's a great recipe if you'd like to try it out! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/chopped-grilled-chicken-kelaguen-mannok-2198423 Talafofo, Guam
