The Philippines has long been a dream destination for many. With its warm tropical climate, friendly people, and affordable cost of living. Whether you’re thinking about retirement, remote work, or just a new adventure, moving here can be exciting but also a big adjustment. Here are some tips to make the transition smoother: 1. Cebu Tourist Spots You Can Visit in One Day (With a Rainy Twist)

Image
Our day started with excitement as Marilou’s friend and family from Oregon joined us for a Cebu City adventure. We planned to see some of the city’s most famous tourist spots, and even though the weather had its own plans, it turned into a memorable trip we won’t forget. Sirao Garden – Little Amsterdam of Cebu Our first stop was the colorful Sirao Garden, often called “Little Amsterdam.” With vibrant celosia flowers, windmills, and mountain views, it’s one of the most photogenic places in Cebu. Lunch at Chix Boy A few meters from the Temple, we stopped at Chix Boy for lunch. Their grilled chicken and mountain view seating hit the spot. Rain a...

On August 12, 2025, Cebu City experienced an intense downpour that quickly turned into localized flooding. We were traveling in a van from the iconic Temple of Leah down to Tabuan Market when the rain began to pour relentlessly. From the passenger front seat, I captured raw, unedited footage of the journey — water rushing down from the mountains, streets transforming into fast-moving streams, and locals braving the weather to go about their day. The city’s drainage systems were clearly overwhelmed, as deep puddles and flooded intersections slowed traffic and tested drivers’ patience. While Cebu is no stranger to heavy rain during the monsoon season, the speed at which the flooding occurred was a stark reminder of how quickly conditions can change here. It’s both a testament to the resilience of Cebuanos and a call for everyone to be extra cautious during severe weather. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to navigate Cebu during a major storm, this raw footage will put you right ...
