Raw Footage: Heavy Rain & Flooding in Cebu City – August 12, 2025
On August 12, 2025, Cebu City experienced an intense downpour that quickly turned into localized flooding. We were traveling in a van from the iconic Temple of Leah down to Tabuan Market when the rain began to pour relentlessly.
From the passenger front seat, I captured raw, unedited footage of the journey — water rushing down from the mountains, streets transforming into fast-moving streams, and locals braving the weather to go about their day. The city’s drainage systems were clearly overwhelmed, as deep puddles and flooded intersections slowed traffic and tested drivers’ patience.
While Cebu is no stranger to heavy rain during the monsoon season, the speed at which the flooding occurred was a stark reminder of how quickly conditions can change here. It’s both a testament to the resilience of Cebuanos and a call for everyone to be extra cautious during severe weather.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to navigate Cebu during a major storm, this raw footage will put you right in the passenger seat.
